Chapter 17: Surprises.
Lissa woke to the smell of fried eggs, bologna and toasted bread. She sat up in bed and smiled. She remembered that she had slept over at Ryan's place.
She listened to the sound of footsteps coming closer. She looked up to see Ryan coming towards her wearing the shorts from last night but he also had on a white marina that barely covered his muscular pecs. In his hands was a tray that held a plate filled with delicious smelling food. She grinned as he placed it on her lap.
"Good morning beautiful," he said
"Good morning," she replied. "Thank you."
He touched her head. "You're welcome sweet pea," he said smiling at her.
"Hmm ... thank you for last night," she said. He came and sat beside her. He touched her thigh. She moved closer to kiss him and he leaned forward and kissed her slowly. They both closed their eyes as they indulged their senses in the moment between them. As she moved away, she opened her eyes and gazed at him. He opened his eyes and smiled at her. She blushed.
"Yesterday you said if I gave you a chance, if I let my guard down for you, you would catch me," she said. "Would you really? I have good days and bad days. Sometimes I get sad and a little depressed. Other times I'm okay." She smiled sadly at him.
Ryan took the tray from her lap and laid it on the empty space on top of the chest of drawers. He came back to her and lifted her in his arms, circling her legs around his hips. Climbing on the bed, he gently kissed her lips and carefully lay on his back while she sat on him, straddling him. He looked up at her.
Gently, he massaged her thighs. She arched her body and closed her eyes. "Sweet pea you're so beautiful. I want to have you for the rest of my life, all of you," he told her. She leaned forward and he suckled her lips while he kissed her.
He was so gentle with her. He was lighting a fire inside her. She sat up straight and looked into his eyes. "Ryan, you're so sweet," she breathed. He sat up. He cupped her face. "What do you want me to do?"
"I ... I," she faltered.
He cupped and squeezed her buttocks. "Hmm .. sweet baby," he growled tenderly. He reached under her pajama top to caress her breasts. Lissa moaned and leaned back. He quickly cradled his arms around her back. He gently lay her down on the bed and came over her. He lifted the blouse over her head and put it aside.
He gazed at her breasts. They were large, perky and beautiful. He cupped them gently. "Do they hurt?" he asked, his voice husky.
She looked up at him and nodded. "Yeah, a little," she said.
"I can massage them for you," he told her.
"Okay," she said. He got up and went into the bathroom. He retrieved a small bottle of jojoba oil. He brought it to her. He sat on the bed beside her.
"What's that?" she asked looking curiously at him.
"Jojoba oil," he told her.
"Oh," she said. "What is a single man doing with jojoba oil?" she asked.
He laughed. "My ex introduced me to it," he replied.
"Okay," she answered.
"Is she really an ex?" she asked.
"Are you jealous?" he asked.
She blushed.
"Well? Are you?" he pressed, teasing her.
She chuckled. "Okay, yes, I am a little," she answered.
Ryan reached out and cupped her face. "There's no one else," he told her. She closed her eyes and sighed.
She nodded. "I want to get to know you," she said. "I'd like to know more about you, but I want to take it slow."
"Okay, I would love that as well," he said softly.
Gently, he reached out and caressed her breasts. She bit her bottom lip and moaned softly.
"You're really beautiful, sweet pea," he told her.
"Sweet pea? Is that my new name?" she asked amused.
"Do you like it?" he asked while he caressed her.
She released a soft breath. "Ahh ... yes, yes I do," she said caught up in the sensations his hands were causing her to feel.
He picked up the bottle of Jojoba oil in his hand, opened the cap and squeezed a little in his hands, he placed the bottle aside then rubbed his hands together. Leaning forward he said, "Tell me if this feels good or if I'm hurting you, okay?"
Lissa nodded. "Okay," she replied.
Gently, he massaged the jojoba oil into her taut, achy breasts and listened to her whimper. "This okay?" he asked. He was aroused by her beauty, but wanted to make sure she was okay. Lissa, with eyes closed and mouth slightly opened, was groaning softly.
"Is this okay sweet baby?" he asked tenderly.
"Mhm, yes," she whispered. Her voice was soft but sexy to his ears.
He applied a little more pressure squeezing her a little as he massaged. Lissa arched her body up to him and moaned. "Ohh, Ryan!" She was biting her lips.
Ryan watched her intently. She was very beautiful. One of these days he would make love to her in sweet abandon, not thinking about what was going on in the world around them.
This morning though, he needed to get to work, and he also wanted to take things slow with her. He moved his hands up to her arms and pulled her up to him. "Turn around," he told her. Lissa turned her back to him. He came up behind her and massaged her breasts, pulling on the skin gently.
He squeezed more of the jojoba oil in his hands and tenderly massaged her belly. Her tummy was beginning to expand more rapidly. He gently massaged the curve of her tummy and caressed it. She leaned back on him as he caressed her.
"Ryan," she said breathlessly.
"Hmm?" he asked. He kissed her neck and right shoulder.
"Why me?" she asked. She loved the way he treated her, but she was perplexed by him.
He moved his hands up and cupped her breasts. They were firm and beautiful. He was looking forward to having them in his mouth soon. "Because it's supposed to be you. That's why," he answered. "I can't explain it, but I feel like these feelings between us are meant to be."
"I'm so messed up, and not just with this situation with Shane. There are things in my past i'm not proud of," she said.
He moved his hands away from her breasts and wrapped his arms as far as they could around her waist. He kissed her neck. "You wanna talk about it?"
"You have work today," she said.
"I do, but I want you to tell me what's on your mind. I have a little time. And you can trust me," he answered.
She took a deep sigh. She squeezed her eyes shut. Ryan felt her body go tense. He wrapped his arms across her chest and pulled her into him, stretching his legs out on either side of hers. He kissed the side of her head. "You can trust me sweet pea," he said softly.
"I-I ... I was raped and beaten at seventeen. It was a guy I thought loved me, who I believed loved me, and I thought I was in love with him," she said.
Ryan squeezed her closer. He felt her body relax a little. "Is that why you mostly counsel persons who've been sexually assaulted or victims of domestic violence?" he asked quietly.
She nodded. "Yeah, in a sense, yes," she replied. "I feel like it's a mission for me, you know."
"Yeah, I know," he said softly. He knew there was something special about her, but never thought it would be this. No wonder she was always so kind and attentive to her clients.
"I had to go through therapy. My situation was so bad I would cut myself. I couldn't sleep at nights. I would have nightmares like I was reliving it all over again. At one point I wasn't eating and I would stare blankly at nothing for hours, and I would kind of zone out and not talk to anyone."
Ryan listened to her, feeling a fierce desire to protect her rise up within him. He shifted his body more to the right so he could catch a glimpse of her face. She wasn't crying, but he could see she was sad. He kissed her cheek. "Turn around baby," he instructed her.
Lissa slowly turned towards him. He eased back a little to give her space to manoeuvre herself to face him. He reached out and rubbed her thighs. "Thank you for telling me," he said softly. He leaned forward and hugged her.
She sighed as she felt his arms around her. When he released her from the hug, he took up her pajama top and handed it to her. "Wanna get dressed?" he asked.
She nodded. "Yes," she said taking the blouse from him. She put it on then smiled at him. "Thank you. Thank you for listening."
He touched her face. "That's what I'm here for," he told her. "You have gone through a lot sweet pea, but you have come out of it a kindhearted, strong and brave young woman," he said. "A young woman I respect and love."
Lissa's gaze softened towards him. He was definitely unexpected. He took up the tray with the food from the night table and placed it on her lap. "Would you like me to reheat this for you," he asked.
"No, that's okay just make the tea really hot and I'm good,"she replied
"You sure?" he asked.
"Yes, that's fine," she said.
"Okay baby," he said smiling.
***
After breakfast, he showered and dressed for work. She watched as he put on a thin cotton shirt, and then his uniform. She never saw a glimpse or hint of his intimate area because he decided to put on his underpants in the bathroom, and he got dressed with his back to her. Lissa was disappointed but respected him for his stance.
She cleared her throat and he turned to look at her. "I want to stay another night. Is that okay?"
He nodded. "Since I'll be going in this morning I'm not sure what that means for my schedule tonight," he told her.
She lay down on the comfy bed, adjusting her tummy under her as she tried to get comfortable. He looked at what she was doing and smiled.
"It must be very uncomfortable laying down like that?" he commented.
She chuckled, then said, "It used to be easier."
He walked towards the bed and sat beside her. "Your dad knows you're here with me," he told her.
She nodded. "Is he upset with me?"
He reached out and rubbed her lower back. "He's worried about you. He said he would call me back to find out how you are, but he told me your mom fainted so I don't know. Give him a call okay."
"She fainted?" Lissa asked feeling fearful. Ryan nodded. "Mhm," he said. "Because of how you were last night I didn't want to say anything and you ..." He paused on rubbing her back.
He took a deep breath and released it, then said: "By your own description you zoned out when we were in the car yesterday. You kind of scared me a little. I called your dad and told him what happened. He said I should shock you by putting you in cold water. Does what happened yesterday happen to you often?"
Lissa looked at him. She saw the concern on his face and shook her head. "No, it doesn't happen often," she replied. "Only when I'm extremely stressed and even in those cases it's rare. I took a lot of time through therapy and personal development to build up my mental fortress. It's just being pregnant and the situation with Shane and this Z guy has been testing my limits."
"But I do get sad and so on, but it's normal stuff," she reassured him. She turned slowly onto her back and touched his thigh. "I'm okay Ryan, really," she said seeing his brow knotting. "I will never lie and I won't lie to you about how I'm feeling."
"So why did you zone out yesterday?" he asked squeezing her arm.
She sighed. "I was shocked at Shane's behavior and then to realize that he may have killed himself it was too much for me. I hope as you say, he's really okay. I am carrying his kids. I may be unsure about a romantic relationship with him, but I still care for him," she said
Ryan placed his hand on her rounded tummy. "If something were to happen to me how would you feel?" he asked.
Lissa searched his face. She wondered why he asked that question. She saw a hint of fear and what seemed to be jealousy.
"Shane is my children's father, naturally I will have a soft spot for him." She turned on her side towards him and squeezed his leg. "But with you I will be hurt if I lost you. If our relationship grows to something more intimate, and I fall for you deeply, it would feel like I wouldn't be able to breathe if I lost you."
He looked into her eyes. He smiled tenderly at her. Her eyes were wide open and he could see she meant every word.
"I love you," he said. He leaned forward and kissed her lips then stood up. "There are snacks in the pantry, meat in the fridge, bread and eggs. There's rice, flour and cornmeal in a white five gallon bucket in the kitchen. Make something for lunch and dinner, okay? If anything, I'll stop off some where and buy something to eat." He turned to walk towards the door.
She reached out for his hand and squeezed it. He looked at her. "It will be my pleasure to make you something. While I'm here I have no problem helping out."
His gaze softened on her. "You sure?"
She nodded biting her lips cheekily. "For someone so sexy, definitely."
Ryan laughed softly. Lissa noted that he seemed to be blushing. She grinned up at him. He bent forward and kissed her brow. "Okay, thanks sweet pea, as soon as I know my schedule for later I'll call, okay?"
"Okay," she said smiling happily. She enjoyed being with him. "Bye, have a good day at work today," she said.
"Thank you baby," he replied. "Please call your dad," he reminded her.
She nodded. "I will," she said.
She got up from the bed and followed him to the door. She closed and locked it behind him. She looked around the apartment. Maybe she could do a little freshening up of the space.
She smiled to herself. Okay, let's see what I can do, she thought. Hoping he will like it, she got to work.
***
Zavier called a family meeting. His wife had a charity event she wanted to attend but told him she could spare half hour. Isabel had gone out with friends but Zaniv and Zahir were home.
His wife sat between his two boys and waited to hear what he had to say. Zavier walking into the room holding several plane tickets, he gave each one but kept two in his hand. One was for himself, the other for Izzie.
Zahir sat back. "This means we're going somewhere right?" he asked.
Zavier nodded. "The Seychelles is beautiful this time of year," he answered.
"What?!" Danae exclaimed. "I've always wanted to go!" She paused and looked at him. "You said things were slow in your manufacturing and real estate businesses," she asked puzzled. Zahir smirked. He and his dad's eyes met. He choked the laugh that almost escaped his mouth.
Zavier looked at his son and gave him a stern look. Zahir sobered quickly. Even he knew better than to cross his dad. He crossed his arms over his chest and decided to say nothing further.
Zaniv looked at him and shook his head then turned to his dad. "Sounds like a plan," he said smiling at him. "Will the Wellingtons be able to join us on this trip?" Zavier smiled at his son but shook his head. "I don't think so," he replied.
Zavier and his family, and the Wellingtons vacationed together three years ago. That was when Zaniv fell in love with Zolah, but Zolah needed a little convincing to fall for him. She was however smitten after Zaniv decided to be more amorous and affectionate towards her: taking her out on dates, singing to her, holding her hands and cuddling with her.
According to Zaniv, Zolah loved to cuddle. If that was true, Zavier considered her just like her mother in that regard. He remembered those times he and Rebecca would spend together making love and then cuddling afterwards. He was not the physical affection type, but Rebecca softened him a little.
Now he enjoyed holding his wife even if they don't have sex. It was one of the things Danae said she loved about him. He looked at her and winked. She blew him a kiss. Zavier looked at his son and shook his head. "No, I don't think they'll join us this year," he said. He saw Zaniv's countenance sadden.
He moved closer to his son and sat between him and Zahir. He put his arm around him. "Tell you what, you can ask Zolah if she wants to come by herself. We'll be willing to accommodate her if she wants to come," he told him.
Zaniv's face lit up. "Okay dad, thanks I will call her as soon as we're done here!" Zaniv said excitedly. Zavier chuckled. He looked at his wife who smiled at him. He could see that her eyes were telling him she adored him. He blew a kiss at her.
"I guess I should ask Zuzu then?" Zahir asked.
Zavier looked at him. He was about to express his doubt when Danae said, "Nope, for one thing Zuzu is not your girlfriend and she isn't your fiance. There is no justification for her to join us, and I'm sure her dad would not be pleased."
Zahir looked at his dad for back up but Zavier shook his head. "In this case I'll have to agree with your mother," he said. He put his hand on his shoulder. "And don't ask her either," he said looking at him. Zahir held his head down.
Zavier was sorry to disappoint his son, but he remembered his last conversation with Midnight. He didn't think he was lying when he said Zuzu hated his son's guts. Besides that, what was she doing at that lawyer's house alone with the boy? They were probably seeing each other.
"We'll be leaving on the 25th, so pack your bags and clear up any loose ends you have and get ready," he told them as he stood up. "Okay, you can go now," he said smiling at his sons. Zaniv smiled back at him. He reached over and hugged his mom and gave her a kiss on the cheek, then gave his little brother a playful slap on the back of his head. Zahir held his head and hissed his teeth. He wasn't in the mood to play games. He also stood up and walked away from his parents.
Danae stood up and went into her husband's arms. "Thank you baby, this is a good idea. I really needed a break from the salon," she told him.
Zavier chuckled. "Really?" he asked amused.
"Mhm," she said resting her head on his chest.
"You know you don't have to work," he reminded her.
"I know, but I enjoy doing something with my time," she replied.
He nodded. "I know," he said, "but whenever you feel like retiring from that, you know I've got you, okay?" He lovingly caressed her back. His hands snaked down to squeeze and caress her buttocks. She laughed and slapped his right shoulder. "Naughty!" she exclaimed. She smiled broadly at him. He leaned forward and kissed her.
When she pulled away she looked at him, then played with his beard affectionately. "I love you," she said.
"Love you too," he replied. He kissed her brow. "Gonna go to work today?"
She nodded. "Yeah, I'll leave in a little while," she said. "Okay, hun. Take care of yourself."
"Always," he answered.
He took up his keys from the coffee table and called out Zahir's name. Within a minute Zahir entered the living room with his school bag over his shoulder. "Ready," he answered. Zavier nodded. "Good," he said. He reached behind Danae and gave her a slap on her behind, and grinned cheekily when she yelped then giggled. He winked at her. "Later," he told her. She smiled at him and nodded. "Okay, later," she said. He grinned at her and led the way to the front door of their mansion-like house. He walked to his car and disarmed it.
Zahir slipped into the passenger side and buckled his seat belt. Zavier sat on the driver's side and checked his phone for any new messages. There weren't any. He started the engine and drove to the front door. He pressed the automatic gate button and it opened. He drove through then pressed the button to close it. He carefully observed either side of the road, then drove off quickly.
He had a big day ahead of him. He was expecting a visitor from the private sector group. Everything needed to go well. He hoped it would.
***
Lissa was doing some organizing and light dusting of Ryan's apartment. There wasn't much she needed to do because he kept his place neat and fairly clean, but she decided to organize a few books on a small book shelf for him.
She looked at a few titles and smiled. There were books about God and Christianity, finances and a few romance novels. She was happy to discover the novels and would ask to borrow them when he came home later.
There was a stack of papers on the bottom shelf. She took them up and started organizing them according to date. The most recent to the oldest. The papers needed to be in a folder or file jacket. She noticed a plaza across the street from the apartment. Maybe she could check to see if any of the businesses sold stationery items. Yeah, she would check. She had some money in her purse.
Among the papers was a certificate with Ryan's name on it. Ryan Aaron Stewart. Aaron? Lissa chuckled. It was a diploma from the Police Academy. She read the words on the document. She smiled. She looked at the date.
Today was the date, five years ago, he had successfully completed his JCF training and was awarded this document to commemorate the occasion. It would be five years today. She wondered if he ever celebrated the achievement. If he didn't she would. Yes! That's exactly what she would do.
After she threw the waste water down the shower drain, she put away the mop and bucket. then used the washing brush she saw on the bathtub rim to scrub the shower walls, then the tub. She poured some bleach she found down the drain. Afterwards, she cleaned the bathroom sink and sprayed some of her perfume into the space.
She quickly took a shower and changed into a pair of jeans and a loose fitting t-shirt. She was going to go shopping. When she entered the plaza, she looked around for a place where she could buy a gift for him and maybe a cake.
There was a pastry shop, but nowhere she could buy a plaque or anything like that. She sighed in disappointment, but decided to go do what she had planned. She bought two air fresheners: lavender and lemon scented. Then she got two washing brushes. She wasn't sure if the one she used for the bathroom was to wash clothes or to do the bathroom tiles. So to make it up to him she bought him two as replacements. She also noticed that the shower curtain looked worn. It was sturdy but the color was very faded. She bought one at the same place she bought the air fresheners and the washing brushes.
After she made those purchases, she bought a cake. She decided to buy a strawberry cheesecake because she heard that was his favorite. She also vaguely remembered him saying that he liked curry goat. She went into the mini-grocery store and bought two pounds of the meat, and a packet of curry. She also bought some escallion, half a pound of Irish potatoes and half a pound of red carrots. She was able to buy some thyme and two small packets of chicken seasoning and meat seasoning. When she looked at her purchases she was very happy.
She went into a quaint little store that sold stationery and asked if they had file jackets or folders. She didn't see any on display. The elderly woman in the store smiled and went around the back and brought two file jackets for her. She thanked her and bought them.
She left the plaza feeling like she had accomplished a lot. Now all she had to do was prepare the meal and make sure she was wearing something nice by the time he got back. She had a thin chemise she could wear but decided to wear the yellow sun dress she wore when they went out on their date.
First though, she would call her friend Prudence and then her dad.

Corporal Stewart sat in Superintendent Dacres' office waiting for him to commence the debriefing. He was told that another officer would be joining the meeting. He was a little nervous, but the thought of Lissa calmed his mind. He decided to call her. The phone rang three times then she answered, "Hey, how are you?"
Ryan smiled at the phone. "Hey," he said, "I was just thinking about you."
"Really?" she sounded surprised.
Ryan chuckled a little. "Why do you sound surprised?"
"I don't know, I guess I was thinking you would have better things to do than to think of me," she said shyly.
Ryan noted her shy tone. He blew a wet sloppy kiss to her. He heard her giggle. "Trust me, right now I would rather be with you than here. I'm actually waiting to be debriefed by Supe Dacres and another officer, not sure who it is," he told her.
"You nervous?" she asked her tone holding a hint of playfulness.
He chuckled softly. He leaned back in the chair as he waited. "I am a little," he confessed.
"Oh, I'm sorry. Hopefully this will cheer you up, I have a surprise for you when you get home," she told him. Her voice was soft.
Ryan smiled. "Really?" he asked.
"Is it true you like curry goat?" she asked. She had heard it around the station, as well as from him during the time she was his counsellor.
"Yeah, it's true," he answered. He was smiling from ear to ear. He was glad he called her. "One of the favorite things I like to eat," he told her.
"Hmm ... okay." She made a soft guttural sound to tease him. Ryan closed his eyes and bit his bottom lip. He could definitely imagine being at a location after dark, listening to her talk dirty to him.
"My little cuz is actually bonkers for curry goat as well," she responded. "Actually, that's a part of the surprise," she said. Her voice holding a hint of humor and mystery.
"A part of the surprise? So what's the next part?" he asked, his curiosity peaked.
"Don't worry, when you get here you'll find out," she told him.
"I don't know," he said.
"Hmmm," she softened her tone to something playful and endearing. Ryan felt his body respond to her. He didn't want to disappoint her but it wasn't up to him.
"Please try," she said. Her voice was teasing him.
"Lissa ..." He felt his member harden a little. He took deep breaths trying to control his physical reaction to her.
"Hmm ..." she groaned softly.
Oh god she is very tempting, he thought.
He cleared his throat. "That's the thing, I don't know if I'll have to work late or ..."
The door opened. Supe Dacres and another man entered the room. Ryan looked up at them. He hurriedly stood to his feet as he recognized that he was in the presence of a senior officer, even more higher in rank than Superintendent Dacres. This was serious, Ryan thought. He slightly cupped his hand over the receiver of the cellphone and whispered, "Baby, I'm gonna have to call you later, okay? Supe just walked in."
"Okay baby," Lissa said. "See you soon, I hope."
She called me baby! Ryan was pleasantly surprised, but would roll with it. "Okay babe, later," he whispered then hung up. He put the phone in his pocket and looked at the two men. Supe Dacres eyed him with a curious look on his face, but said nothing. He saluted them.
Supe Dacres nodded at him and saluted. The senior officer also saluted him. "At ease Corporal," Superintendent Dacres said. Corporal Ryan Stewart assumed the position: His legs slightly apart; shoulders back, his arms in front, hands clasped together left covering right.
Ryan was glad he could put his hands in front of him. It would act as cover to spare him the embarrassment. He hoped they hadn't noticed. In his mind he was laughing at himself. When he got home he would teach her a lesson not to tease him like that. He smiled slightly as he thought about his revenge.
Superintendent Dacres smiled at him. "Corporal, this is ACP George Morris from the Professional Standards Branch. He has a few questions for you concerning the incident at Sergeant Crosby's home," he said. ACP nodded at Corporal Stewart. "You may have a seat, Corporal." ACP Morris told him. Corporal Stewart nodded then said, "Thank you sir." He sat down.
***
The debriefing took two hours, the man with Supe Dacres was ACP Morris from the Professional Standards Branch. He asked him questions about this encounter with Sergeant Shane Crosby.
At first, he tried to be vague, hoping to spare Sarge's career, but ACP Morris warned him sternly that if he was covering any misconduct for himself or his colleague, there would be disciplinary actions that could lead to interdiction, that he didn't want. So with a deep sigh, he told ACP Morris all he knew about Shane and his issues with the nefarious figure of Mr Z.
Ryan tried to protect Lissa's conduct as much as he could, and carefully went over the incident with Lissa in the room with himself and Sarge. He did not mention that Sarge held a shotgun on him, but did disclose that Sarge had misunderstood the friendship between himself and Lissa.
As for the fire, he did not know how it started, but assumed that Sergeant Crosby started the fire. He tried to kick the door down, but it was a solid wooden door, and after speaking to Superintendent Dacres, decided to stand down, and wait for the Fire Brigade to come and extinguish the blaze.

Shane was asleep when he received a call from Corporal Dana Campbell. She called him the first two times and he did not pick up. But after the third time, the shrill sound of the cellphone woke him and he saw who it was, he answered.
"Yes Constable Campbell," he answered.
"Sarge, good news and bad news," she said.
"Shoot," he responded.
"I got a call from the place. They want me to start working as a waitress in the bar and lounge section in the nights and as a cleaning attendant in the hair salon section. The attendant position is on an as needed basis, but the waitress job is four days a week at night. The only thing, I have to wear skimpy clothing," she said laughing nervously.
Shane chuckled. "Well, you don't have to worry about that. You have a very nice figure," he told her. "And a pretty face to match that."
Dana stopped laughing, she went silent. It was a good thing he couldn't see her. She was blushing really hard.
Shane heard her silence. "Constable, I am sorry. I meant no disrespect. My apologies," he said quickly.
Dana cleared her throat. This was the opportunity she was waiting for. "No, Sarge it's okay. It's good to know someone thinks I look good," she answered him.
Shane cleared his throat. "Dana, you are quite an attractive woman, and very smart," he said. "I'm sure if you haven't found anyone yet you will very soon. Any man would be lucky to have you."
"The only man I want is you," she blurted out. She may as well put it out there.
Shane was stunned to say the least. He didn't know she liked him. "Where are you now?" he asked her.
"Traffic Enforcement duties," she told him. "I'm in Half Way Tree."
He scratched his head. "When you're off work call me. We need to talk ... er ... a-about what you need to do next," he said feeling awkward. Dana was an attractive young woman, very attractive, but his heart and mind belonged to Lissa.
Dana sighed. "Yes, okay," she answered. Not what she wanted to hear, but she'll take it. Seeing him was enough. She also had a surprise for him. She had bought it for his birthday but hadn't gotten the chance to give it to him yet, but now she would. It was in her locker at work. She was waiting for the perfect time. Now was as good a time as any.
"Okay," he said.
"Okay," she said. She hung up releasing her breath, not realizing she was holding it in.
***
Shane smiled to himself. Dana likes me. Not so tomboyish after all, he mused. She was younger than Lissa and quite beautiful. She loved sports and was like one of the guys, but at times she would surprise him with kind gestures like cooking food and bringing it to him. Especially these past few weeks he was hiding from Mr Z. She was a very good cook too.
He complimented her every time she brought him food. She once volunteered to cook something for him at the apartment. It was on her day off. She made a pasta dish for him which he had to admit, though he wasn't a pasta fan, he thoroughly enjoyed the meal.
That day she wore a figure hugging blouse and a short skirt. It wasn't a tight mini skirt but it did show off her legs. He found himself subconsciously thinking how nice and brown her thighs were, but then he dismissed that thought quickly.
Nothing inappropriate had ever happened between them, and he didn't want anything like that to happen. He would talk to her and try to dissuade her from getting emotionally attached to him.
She was a beautiful girl, but she did not need to be mixed up in all his troubles. Now he wondered if she was willing to go undercover for him because of her attraction for him. He really needed to talk to her.
***
Ryan spent the rest of the day anticipating seeing Lissa. His hands were itching to caress her. He wanted to tease her to the point where she was begging him to penetrate her.
He had to be honest, even though he would be teasing her, it would be torture for him for he wanted to feel her. He craved being inside her. He wouldn't take long to tease her. He was on duty till 7 that night. Good news for him. He longed to hold her.

Zavier sat in the offices of his manufacturing company and waited for Mr Brodber to stop by. He would be discussing with him the prospect of him becoming a member of the private sector organization. He had done his due diligence where his companies' accounting were concerned. He was hoping for a positive response.
At 11:30 a.m. there was a knock on the door. He went to it and opened it to see Mr Brodber and another gentleman standing before him. He smiled at them both though he was curious about who the other man was. He opened the door wider for them to enter his office. He gestured for them to sit down in two comfortably padded chairs. He sat in his chair and smiled at them, waiting to hear what Mr James Brodber had to say.
"Mr Sterling," he said addressing Zavier, "this is Mr Marcus Dixon, he's an attorney-at-law who also moonlights as quite a capable auditor and company compliance consultant. He will be going over your books and operations with you to ensure everything is above board and of course helping you to get ready to be accepted as part of our organization."
Zavier leaned forward and shook Mr Dixon's hand. He realized that the man was sizing him up. He decided to return the favor. He observed that Mr Dixon had distinguished grey hair at the temples of his head, the rest of his hair was fairly black. He had a somewhat straight nose, but full lips. He was brown skinned but not too light. He had on a nice tailored suit but nothing too flashy. He wore an expensive watch and that was the only thing on him that he noticed looked very pricey. He leaned back in his chair.
Marcus Dixon produced a faint smile and glanced at Mr Brodber. He looked at Zavier again then said, "I'll be helping with compliance to meet the requirements to be accepted into the group, I make recommendations, but my recommendations don't mean an acceptance or decline of applications," he told him.
Zavier nodded his understanding. "So how long will this process take?" he asked.
"Usually a few weeks, not very long, unless your accounting is in terrible condition, then I would have to help you make sure your reporting is of international standards," Marcus Dixon said.
Zavier pursed his lips then asked, "So you're an attorney and also an accountant?"
"I have a strong gift for numbers," Marcus answered. "Actually, I worked as an accountant before becoming a lawyer."
Zavier nodded. "I see," he replied. "But are you certified?" he asked feeling skeptical. There was something about Mr Dixon that was unnerving. Marcus chuckled, then said, "ACCA level II in my spare time."
Zavier's eyebrows flew up. Alrighty then, he thought. He cleared his throat.
"Is there a problem?" Mr Brodber asked.
Zavier coughed a little. "No, no problem. Quite impressive Mr Dixon," he answered.
Mr Dixon inclined his head into a slight nod.
Mr Brodber noted Zavier's awkward behavior and asked, "All your books are in order, correct?"
Zavier nodded. "Yes, they are," he replied. He cleared his throat again then stood up and went to the mini fridge at the left corner of the room. He opened the fridge and took out a chilled bottle of water. Oh, where were his manners! "Would you gentlemen want some water?" he asked politely.
"Sure," Mr Brodber replied. Zavier looked at Mr Dixon who shook his head, "No thanks," he answered. He took out a bottle for Brodber, walked over to him and handed it to him.
Marcus watched the interaction and noticed the gold ring with purple stone in the centre on Mr Sterling's right hand. But it was what was on the side of the ring that caught his eye, a letter 'Z' which seemed to have curly lines coming out of it that tapered into the rim of the ring. He was intrigued by it. He wondered. He looked up at him sharply.
Zavier saw his curious stare and looked back at him, his gaze steady. "Is something the matter Mr Dixon?" he asked softly.
Marcus shook his head. "No, nothing is the matter," he answered. His heart was pounding. Could this average looking man be the Mr Z that was terrorizing his family?
He cleared his throat and looked at the door they came through. He looked to his right and saw the very large wooden plaque with Chinese writing, mounted on the wall. It was a popular quote. He had also studied a little Chinese to help with handling his international clients.
He knew what the plaque said and its meaning. He looked back at Mr Sterling and saw a flicker of something pass across his face. He lowered his gaze and swallowed carefully. His behavior was giving him away. He squared his shoulders, took a deep breath and smiled at Mr Brodber.
Zavier watched him curiously. There was something about Mr Dixon that was definitely 'off'. He walked to his chair and sat in it. "When will we start the process?" he asked.
Marcus cleared his throat. "I have some things to clear up this week, so by next week Tuesday my schedule will be clear. We can start on the Wednesday," he answered.
"Why not on Tuesday?" Zavier asked.
Marcus shook his head. "My wife's birthday," he told him with a smile.
Zavier smiled, but his smile did not brighten his eyes. Marcus could feel the tension between them. "Okay. Understood. Wednesday," Zavier answered. "What time?" he asked.
"10 o'clock is fine. The earlier the better," Marcus replied.
Zavier nodded. "Okay," he answered. "Can we be done by the 25th of this month. I have a vacation booked for my family."
"That may not be possible," Mr Brodber responded. "You have several companies, we have to go through every account thoroughly."
"What if I use a proxy, a person who can stand in? I do not want to disappoint my family, especially my wife," he inquired.
"You could," Brodber answered, "but we prefer working with the owners just in case there are questions we need answers to that the books don't show."
"Nesbeth knows the companies inside and out. He will be even more ideal than me. He's on the ground more than I am, and he also monitors our accounting officer and the accounting team," Zavier said.
"Nesbeth?" asked Marcus.
"Nesbeth Grant," Zavier answered. He rested his eyes on Mr Dixon, feeling perturbed by him. Marcus looked away from him. Zavier frowned. What was up with him? he wondered.
James Brodber stood to his feet. He extended his hand to Zavier for a handshake. "Okay, we'd like to meet Mr Grant as well, but not today, I have another appointment half an hour from now. I'll call you later this week to schedule an appointment so we can meet Mr Grant and get him up to speed," he said. Zavier stood up and shook his hand. "Sounds good," he replied smiling at him.
Marcus stood up. He looked at Zavier, his expression guarded. Zavier stretched his hand to him. Marcus took it tentatively, and shook it briefly, then released his hand as if the contact burned him. Zavier's eyes bored into him. This was very strange, Zavier thought.
Marcus turned his back to him and walked to the door while Zavier exchanged small-talk with Brodber. He walked Brodber to the door and closed it after they stepped out. He took out his cellphone from his trousers' pocket, and dialed N's number.
"N," he said after his friend answered, "I know it's your day off, but I need you to look into something for me or get one of your associates to do it." He walked to his chair and sat down.
"The men from the private sector group came to the manufacturing hub today. We talked about getting my accounts in order and compliant so I can join their group. I however had a weird experience with one of the men. His name is Marcus Dixon," he told him.
"Quite the bright spark it would seem. Attorney at law as well as auditor and compliance consultant. I need a background check on him. Something about him was rubbing me the wrong way. Yes, thank you. You can have tomorrow off as well." He chuckled. "It's no problem, my friend. Thanks again." He hung up. He looked at his ring. Something was very 'off' about that lawyer. He needed to know who he really was.

There was a knock on the door. Lissa looked at the time. It was 7:40 p. m. She went to the door. "Who is it?" she asked.
"Me," Ryan replied.
She opened the door and he was stunned at what he saw. Her beautiful hair was straight, styled in fluffy curls that cascaded past her shoulders. She was wearing the sun dress she wore on their picnic. He looked at her face. She was wearing a little makeup, not too much, just enough to accentuate the oval shape of her eyes. He inhaled her. She smelt wonderful.
He stepped into his apartment and realized that the lights were dimmed. The ceiling lights were off and she had turned on a standing lamp that he rarely used. She must have gone through his things.
He walked into the living room and looked around him. It smelt like fresh flowers and the floor looked sparkly. His book shelf was organized. He also noticed that his papers were in a new file jacket. He was thoroughly surprised at what a four month pregnant woman could get up to. She was smiling at him but she looked nervous.
"Come here," he said.
She went to him. He put his arms around her and kissed her tenderly. "Thank you," he said.
Lissa's smile widened. She looked relieved. "I'm so glad you like it," she told him. She took the bag from his shoulder and laid it by the door. She took his hand and led him to the kitchen. On the stove top was one of his dutch pots and a rice pot. "I cooked you dinner," she said. "I hope you didn't buy anything."
He shook his head. "I only bought two patties for lunch, you said you would be cooking so I didn't want to spoil my appetite," he answered. He reached for her and squeezed her close to him. He moved from her side and took up the oven mitt that was on the kitchen counter and used it to lift the lid of the dutch pot.
"Curry goat!" he exclaimed. She really cooked it for me! But, I didn't have any goat meat here, he thought to himself. He covered it and looked at her. "I didn't have any goat or mutton meat here, only chicken and fish," he told her.
She nodded. "I know," she said simply.
He reached for her hand and kissed the back of it. He pulled her to him and kissed her passionately. He closed his eyes and opened his mouth as he kissed her. He squeezed her soft, curvy body to his hard, muscular one, and groaned.
When he released her, he stared into her eyes and saw the longing inside her. He touched her face. He changed his mind. If they made love he wouldn't hold back. He wouldn't tease her. He wouldn't delay fulfilling her sensual needs. She took the time and spent her own money to do these things for him. He was touched.
"Lissa, I really want to make love to you," he told her. He reached for her hand and placed it over his arousal. Lissa's eyes widened when she felt him. She closed her eyes and rubbed her hand over him slowly.
He feels so thick and hard, she mused. She squeezed him a little, wanting the get an idea of his girth and length. Ryan cupped her bottom and squeezed. She gasped. Oh god he feels so hard, she thought to herself. She bit her bottom lip. She could feel her loins throbbing for him "Ryan," she said with a soft breath. "You ... you feel so good. So hard and thick." He felt nicely endowed. She wanted to have him inside her. She wondered if she could. She was four months pregnant. She wondered if it would hurt.
"Lissa, I want you. Can I have you, not just in my bed, but in my life?" he asked her. "I want to be your man. I want to give my love to you. I want you to fall in love with me," he said making his plea. He touched her face.
She touched her tummy. "What about ... ?"
"I will be there for you and your kids. I won't leave you and I will love them like they're my own." he told her.
"What if this is it? What if I can't have any more?" she asked him.
He looked into her eyes while he touched her face. "If the twins are all we have then I will love them even more because they are a part of you," he replied.
She looked into his eyes and knew he was telling her the truth. "I want to have more kids," she said smiling.
He chuckled. "Then I'm looking forward to having fun making them with you," he said. He kissed her forehead.
"It's been a while, I don't know if it will hurt. Sex I mean," she told him. He cupped her face with both hands. "Then I'll wait for you until after they're born," he answered.
She searched his face. "Are you sure?" she asked him feeling doubtful. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He looked at her. "I'm not perfect Lissa, but what I do know, is when the Bible says 'he that finds a wife finds a good thing', it's true." He bent his head forward and touched his forehead with hers.
"You didn't have to do all of this you've done, but you did it. You spent your own money. I can't ignore that. Thank you by the way," he said smiling softly.
Lissa sighed happily. "I wasn't sure if you'd like it. But there's more. I hope you will be okay with it," she said nervously. He kissed her lips tenderly. At this point he was locked in. "I'm sure I will love it," he told her.
Lissa squeezed him harder and heard him grunt in pleasure. He covered her hand with his and squeezed. He groaned. "You're driving me crazy," he told her. He moved his hand and cupped her instead. He squeezed her soft mound and heard her moan. "Sweet baby, my sweet pea. I'm hungry, but not for food right now," he whispered passionately.
With lips parted, eyes slightly open she looked at him. He lifted her in his arms and brought her to his bed. He laid her down. "Dinner?" she asked though her mind couldn't think straight.
"We can eat it later," he told her.
He stood up and removed his service belt with his gun and baton still holstered. He left the room and returned without them. Lissa didn't care where he put them. All she wanted was him. He removed his shirt, then his work boots. He unzipped his pants and pulled them down.
She looked at the impression of his erection straining against his boxer briefs. Her mouth made an excited "Oh." He was thicker than she expected. She looked up at his face. Oh boy! I'm not sure I can handle that. Maybe if I wasn't pregnant but ...
Ryan took off the cotton t-shirt and came to the bed. He sat on it and cupped her face. "Sweet pea, I promise to be gentle with you. Do you trust me?" He could see the fear in her eyes. She nodded nervously. "I won't hurt you. If it can't fit right now, I'll wait and we can satisfy each other another way. As a matter of fact, let's do that then." He tenderly kissed her brow. "Lay back sweet pea," he told her.
Lissa lay on the bed. He lay beside her and kissed her soft lips. "I like tasting your sweet lips here," he said placing his index finger on her parted lips. Her breathing was shallow as her body ached and longed for his loving. "But I bet your lips here taste even better," he said. He moved his hand down and gently cupped her. She let out a rushed breath softly.
"Sweet pea, would you be okay with going down on me?" he asked her. She looked into his eyes. Those warm, chocolate eyes that were making her weak, and nodded. "Yes, I will do that if you want," she answered. He touched her face. "Thank you," he said.
He kissed her passionately, then said, "Ladies first."
He touched her face. Gently, he lifted the sundress over her head. He kissed her, then paused. I haven't freshened up yet. "Baby, let me take a quick shower so I can be ready for you," he said. She nodded. He walked into the bathroom and she heard the shower running.
She lay back on the bed thinking about him. She was eager to see him. He wanted her to taste him. She was a little nervous. She hadn't done it in a while, and the first and only person she did it to was Shane.
What if I won't be able to please him? What if he doesn't like it? After five minutes he was out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his hips. He stood at the foot of the bed looking at her.
Ryan looked at her face, her eyes were as big as saucers. He leaned forward, feet still planted on the floor. He touched her face. "You okay?" he asked. He searched her face and saw her uncertainty. He sighed. "We don't have to if you're not sure," he told her.
"I-I want to," she said.
"Then what is it?" he asked her. He sat on the bed and scooted closer to her.
"I may not be able to please you. I'm not as flexible as I used to be. I've only gone down on one person, you may not like what I'm doing," she answered looking down at the bed sheets. He cupped her face and lifted it to his gaze.
"Okay, we don't have to, if you don't feel it. Okay? But I'm sure I will love everything you'll do to me. If you're not sure we don't have to," he said reassuringly. He leaned forward and placed soft pecks on her lips.
"I'm sorry," she said as he leaned back from kissing her.
"Not a problem sweet pea. It's okay," he replied. He was frustrated but the feeling would pass. He took a deep breath and looked at her. "I'm gonna get dressed, okay? Can you heat up dinner for us?"
She nodded.
"And thank you for the new shower curtain. I like it."
Lissa blushed. "You're welcome," she said. She stood up and went to the door. She looked back to see him stand up. She stared at his broad, powerful back flexing as he reached in his drawer for underwear. She bit her bottom lip, sighed longingly and left the room, closing the door behind her.

After they ate, she went into the fridge and brought out the strawberry cheesecake. He was totally surprised and smiled broadly at her. "What is the occasion?" he asked. "I mean I'm thankful for all this, but ...?"
She smiled at him. "Well, I decided to do some cleaning because I wanted to show my appreciation for your kindness towards me. I didn't mean to snoop," she said covering her eyes bashfully.
"But as I was cleaning I noticed the stack of papers so I said let me organize them. Oh, so the more recent docs will be on top and the oldest would be at the bottom of the pile. I noticed the diploma you got from the Police Academy and realized that today, well, this date five years ago, was when you graduated from the academy, and officially became a member of the J.C.F." She began wringing her hands together. "I wanted to I guess, celebrate it with you, for you," she told him.
He stood up and walked towards her. He looked into her eyes and saw her need for approval. He touched her face. "Thank you sweet pea, I appreciate it," he said, his voice soft and gruff with emotion.
He hadn't thought of celebrating it, though every year he was aware when the date came around that it was a significant step for him. He took the cake from her and placed it on the dining table. Circling his arms around her, he held her close and sighed happily.
He released her from his embrace and took her hand and walked with her to the table. He made her sit down then went into his cutlery drawer for a cake knife and began cutting the cake. He went into the cupboard and took two small ceramic plates and placed them on the table. He lifted a slice from the cake and placed it on a small plate and placed it before her, then did the same for himself. They used the same forks they used to eat dinner.
As they ate, he stared at her. His eyes watching her, made her feel warm and sensuous all over. She blushed as he continued to watch her intently. "Why look at me like that?" she asked, blushing.
He smiled at her. "You are very beautiful sweet pea, very tempting. It will be my pleasure to have you whenever you're ready to receive me," he said softly.
His tone and his words made her want to give in. "I-I want to wait," she replied.
He nodded. "Understood. Does that mean you will give us a chance?" he asked.
She took a deep breath then released it slowly, then nodded. "Yes Ryan, I want to get to know you better and maybe we can be a couple in the near future," she replied.
Yes! Some progress! Ryan thought. He smiled lovingly at her. He would make sure to treat her very well.
He complimented her on how delicious the curry goat was and told her thanks for planning the evening for him. She blushed and he observed her body language. He hoped that overtime he could help her regain the confidence she once had.
***
Later that night he wore a soft, cotton grey t-shirt and pajama pants of the same color to bed. She wished she could see him. She liked what she felt and the impression of it, but wanted to see it. She wouldn't say so though, she didn't want to give him mixed signals.
After brushing his teeth he came to bed and lay behind her. He possessively wrapped his arms around her torso and pulled her up to his chest. He kissed her neck and nuzzled it gently. She closed her eyes. Every touch from him was so gentle. She was falling for him in a big way.
He insisted on doing the dishes and cleaning up the kitchen. All he allowed her to do was sit and chat with him. She was very happy in his presence.
Now as he lay behind her she wanted him. She wanted to feel his arms around her. His bare flesh pressed on hers, his hardness slipping inside her, stretching her. She had the feeling he would be very gentle with her as he promised.
She closed her eyes and scooted her butt back on him and sighed. He pulled her closer so she could feel his erection pressed on her right buttock. "I want you Lissa. I want to dip my rod into your sweet honey pot," he growled softly. She moved to turn her body around and he released her. She lay on her side and looked at him. "I want to wait, but, if for tonight I lose myself what would you think of me?" she asked.
"I would think you are a woman who needs to be pampered, and be reminded that she is beautiful. You are very beautiful Lissa." he told her. He snaked his right arm around her neck and pulled her to his lips.
Lissa groaned. Just for tonight she would give in. She kissed him passionately feeling his warm embrace circle her. He kissed her lips then made a gentle trail of kisses to her neck and collar bone. Lissa's breathing was shallow as she closed her eyes and enjoyed what he was doing to her.
"Oh Ryan," she breathed in a whisper.
He stopped and looked at her. "You don't have to say this, but I love you," he said brushing his thumb on her lips. "I love you." Lissa closed her eyes and sighed. She was happy.
"Thank you for loving me," she replied. "I-I hope I will be able to say it back to you soon and mean it."
He touched her hair. "What did you do to it?"
"My hair?" she queried.
"Mhm," he replied.
"I flat ironed it," she answered. "I used a flat iron after washing my hair to straighten it."
He nodded. He brushed his fingers through the straightened tresses. "I think you're already falling in love with me," he told her. "A woman who isn't in love wouldn't go through all the trouble you did for me today."
He kissed her brow. "But you're scared," he said. "Lissa baby, I'm not him. I'm not perfect, but I will do all in my power to take care of you. Give me a chance."
She looked into his eyes. She saw his certainty and gave in. She nodded. "Okay," she said smiling shyly.
He kissed her. Pulling her to him, he lay over her, making sure not to crush her tummy. Gently, he kissed her lips, and playfully nibbled on them. He kissed her softly, then kissed her nose and her brow. He playfully kissed her eyelids and her cheeks making 'kissy noises'. Lissa giggled. He looked down at her laying under him and smiled slowly. He touched her face. She looked up at him. A feeling of understanding passed between them.
He lowered his head and captured her lips passionately. He moved his hand down to cup her bottom. He squeezed her gently. Trailing soft kisses from her lips to her neck, he listened as her breathing quickened.
Quickly, he sat up and removed his shirt. Lissa looked breathlessly at his naked torso. He was so huge. He lay on her. "It's okay sweet pea, you can touch me." He took her hands and put them on his shoulders.
Lissa closed her eyes as her hands explored him. He started kissing her again. Tenderly, he pulled down her pajama shorts. This set was a baby blue color. He eased up so he could pull it off her body. She wanted to touch his chest. She reached for him as he leaned back to pull her shorts down.
He chuckled. "It's okay sweet baby," he said tenderly. "I'm not going anywhere." He came to her and held her hands in his and kissed the tips. He opened his mouth and slowly suckled on the middle finger of her right hand. Lissa watched what he was doing and was hot all over. He moved down and touched her thighs. She opened her legs for him.
He went in between them and squeezed her pelvic bone. Lissa arched her back and whimpered. "Ryan!" she moaned. "Sweet baby," he growled. Slowly, he pulled down her underwear and feasted his eyes on her beauty. She was beautiful. She had very little hair on her. He touched her gently. Lissa moaned.
"Oh baby," she said softly.
He moved up between her thighs and lifted the blouse over her head. As she lay back, he put her clothes close to the head board and looked at her. His eyes took her in from head to toe.
He leaned forward and took her hands and placed them on his chest. "Touch me, I'm yours," he told her. She shyly rubbed her hands on his skin. She pressed her hands into him and felt solid muscle. She closed her eyes, and tentatively massaged and squeezed his chest muscles. She heard him grunt softly then groan. "Am I doing this okay?" she asked.
"Lissa, open your eyes and look at me," he told her. She slowly opened her eyes.
"Look at me baby," he said. She looked at his facial expression. His lips were slightly parted and he was breathing a bit more rushed. He grabbed her hands and squeezed them on his pecs. He groaned, closing his eyes. "You're doing just fine baby. Don't be shy. Relax and touch me how you want to," he encouraged her.
Ryan circled his arms around her and squeezed her possessively, but managed to still be gentle, though she was driving him out of his mind. "Lay back baby, I need to taste your sweetness," he said.
He lay Lissa down and he came over her. He cupped her breasts and buried his face between them and groaned. "You're so sweet; so beautiful," he groaned.
Gently, he massaged her breasts and listened to her moan. He lowered his head and carefully began suckling her taut nipples. Lissa arched up, biting her lips. She released a ragged breath and whimpered. "Feels good?' he asked his voice sultry to her ears. She nodded, her eyes closed, mouth slightly open. He moved his right hand down and caressed her buttocks. He slipped his hand between her thighs and gently teased her.
He heard her gasp and shiver. Slowly, he slipped his finger inside her and moved it back and forth. Lissa moaned, rocking her body back and forth in time with his thrusts. He briefly removed his finger and gently caressed her hardened nub and rubbed her slowly. "Sweet pea, I love your body. You feel so good,' he groaned.
Lissa was moaning softly, her breathing more shallow. Gently, he slipped his finger inside again and watched as she bit her lips and moaned. "Sweet pea, you're so beautiful. I want you all for myself." he told her.
"Ohh sweet pea, can I have you?" he said softly as he slowly fingered her. He watched as her hips grinded and undulated in time with his foreplay. She was so wet. She felt so warm and soft. He needed to be inside her. "Sweet baby, look at me," he said tenderly.
Lissa opened her eyes and looked at him. Her body was arching and grinding because of his touch. "You feel so good. Ryan you feel so good," she moaned.
He smiled at her. "I want to go all the way with you sweet pea. Can I make love to you?' he asked her.
She nodded. "Yes, please make love to me," she said with a sigh.
Slowly, he kissed her lips, then moved down to her neck, and pulled on the soft skin and heard her gasp and call his name. Using his tongue and lips, he teased her nipples. He suckled them gently. Ryan closed his eyes and allowed his need for her to take over. He groaned as he teased her.
Lissa leaned her head back and was lost in the sensations she was feeling. She was beside herself with emotions as he massaged and suckled them for her. Lovingly, he kissed the curve of her breasts and watched her shiver. Slowly, he inched his lips lower, kissing her tummy and gently rubbing his hands on the taut skin. She moaned for him. He moved his kisses further down to her soft, moist mound and listened to her breathing accelerate.
"I love you," he said, his voice filled with emotion.
Tenderly, he kissed her delicate folds and heard her moan louder. She called his name and told him to take her, that she was his. He smiled to himself. Unashamedly, he used his tongue to tease her. He slipped his finger inside again while he suckled and licked her gently.
"Ohh Ry-Ryan! Ohh take me, I'm yours! Take all of me! Ohh, take me! Yes! Baby, please!"
Ryan grunted. Her sensual tone and words were pushing him over the edge. He removed his finger and gripped her thighs. He intensified his strokes and felt her shudder. She was moving her hips slightly as her body was growing tense.
He could tell she was near her climax. He wanted to make sure it was intense for her. He increased the pace of his tongue on her and heard her moan and whimper louder.
"Oh god! Ry-Ryan! Ohh Yes!" she moaned.
Her body started to shake. Yes! he thought. He groaned and plunged his tongue inside her. She screamed and cried out his name. Her hand caressed his head as she shivered under him. While she trembled he licked her faster, wanting every last drop of her, wanting her body to be completely satisfied. When she stopped shaking, he kissed her folds gently and listened to her soft whimpers.
"You're really sweet," he said, his voice low and gruff when he stopped. He looked up at her face. She was breathing heavily. "Can I take you? You said I could?" he teased her, smiling a little. Lissa lifted her head slightly. She gazed at him, still feeling breathless, her legs trembling. She saw the amused look on his face and chuckled softly.
With one eye brow raised, she blew him a kiss and lay back. "Sure, why not?" she answered him playfully.
Ryan chuckled. He came up on the bed and gathered her in his arms. She saw the humor in his eyes and laughed. Tenderly, he kissed her soft lips and began loving on her again. Lissa moaned as he tenderly reignited her fire.
He sat back, pulled down his underpants and pajama pants. She looked at him. She licked her lips. "Oh my!" she said, not realizing she uttered the thought aloud. With eyebrows raised, Ryan smiled cheekily at her.
Lissa blushed. "You heard that?" she asked.
He chuckled. "You said it," he said teasing her.
"I didn't mean to," she said smiling, "it was supposed to be in my head."
He cupped her face. "I'm glad you like it," he said looking down at himself then back at her. "I plan on pleasing you with it," he said passionately. He stood up from the bed and pulled his clothes down and kicked them off his feet. He climbed on the bed and grinned at her. Lissa giggled at his comical expression. He captured her lips again and kissed her while the corner of his lips held a smile.
He made her go on her hands and knees, and gently penetrated her from behind. He listened to her moans as he took his time to stroke inside her. He told her she was beautiful and that she felt perfect.
Lissa bit her bottom lip and moaned for him. He was so thick and large, but she could manage because she was very wet. Slowly, he increased the intensity of his thrusts in her. "Ohh sweet pea, you're so sweet, like honey. I can't get enough. Hmm ...," he told her.
Lissa pushed her body back on him trying to match his pace and listened to him tell her she felt good. She wanted him to go crazy on her. She wanted to feel a little of the roughness he was talking about. She pushed her butt back on him, moving faster. She began slapping her butt on his thighs and heard him groan. He gripped her and moved faster.
"Do you want it harder baby?" he groaned.
"Yes, yes, please be a little rough with me," she moaned. He felt so good. His thighs slapping on her bottom were a huge turn on. His hardness felt different. It felt ... She couldn't explain. Lissa felt like she was going crazy.
Ryan leaned forward and circled his right arm around her breasts while moving faster inside her. "Okay, sweet baby," he whispered breathlessly. He thrusted deeper and harder so she could feel the full length of him. She cried his name.
"I love you Lissa. Sweet pea, I love you," he moaned as he moved more fervently inside her. He eased back and gripped her hard. Lissa gasped then bit her bottom lip. She felt his strength when he gripped her hips, pulling her back on him as he thrusted in her. She felt the full length of him and whimpered. So sweet, so hard, so thick! Yes! she thought, this was what I have been wanting for so long. She closed her eyes and allowed her emotions to take over.

In the wee hours of the morning, he made love to her again. It was even more passionate as they both realized she could take a little more pressure. Afterwards, he cuddled with her and kissed her forehead. She had to go home today. She wouldn't impose herself on him any further. Instinctively, she wanted to stay, but she wouldn't do that to him. He cupped her face. "I want to wait for you, baby," he said. "So we don't have to if you don't want to, okay?" he said.
She nodded. She felt a little achy. I should probably not indulge too much, she thought. "Okay, I would like that," she chuckled. "I feel a little sore."
"Down there," he asked concerned. He placed his hand over her private area and cupped her gently. She sighed and closed her eyes. "Yes," she answered. His touch was very gentle. She was happy. Even when he was a little rough last night he was still gentle. She never knew men like this existed. She didn't want to hurt him.
"I'm sorry," he said sincerely.
She opened her eyes and looked at him. She touched his face and smiled. "It's fine, I will feel better, just bring me back some ice cream." She winked at him.
He laughed softly. He loved her sense of humor.
"What kind do you like?" he asked
"Cookie and cream or hot fudge," she told him without hesitation.
"Okay baby, will do," he answered. He kissed her brow. He wrapped his arm around her. "Get some sleep okay?" he said.
"Okay," she said smiling at him. Yeah, I'm falling for him. She closed her eyes and fell asleep. She dreamed of a beautiful, large house and four children: three girls and a boy. Her lover wrapped his arms around her waist, and told her he loved her. She smiled in her sleep.

Shane felt this unsettling feeling in his chest. He didn't know what it was, but it was a maddening sensation. His mind went to thoughts of Lissa. A feeling of jealousy rose up within him. He clenched his fists. Rage was growing inside him. Why was he feeling this way? He had to let it out somehow. He punched the wall. Punching until he felt his knuckles hurt and his hands were bleeding. He screamed loudly. Why was he feeling like this? Lissa! The thought came to him: she's no longer yours. She slept with Ryan! That must be it, he thought.
He felt angry and hurt. How could she do this? There was a weird bond between them. It felt like a heavy block was placed on his chest, he couldn't breathe. He sat on his bed and tried to breathe properly.
There was a knock on the door. He didn't know if he could get up to answer it. It was either Dana or Shaun only those two knew about this place. Mustering the last bit of strength, he staggered to the door and opened it, then collapsed and blacked out.
When he woke up, he was on his bed, his shirt was open and the fan was blowing cool air on him. He looked at his hands. They were cleaned and had thin gauze wrapped around them. He heard movement. He looked to his left and saw Constable Campbell in the small kitchen cooking something on the stove.
"Constable," he called to her, his mouth dry. She looked up and smiled at him. Her hair was loose from her usual ponytail. She wasn't wearing her uniform.
He tried to sit up, but she rushed to his side and pushed him down gently on the bed. "Take it easy Sarge," she said.
She was moving away when he grabbed her hand. She looked at him. "Water," he said hoarsely. She nodded. She took a glass from the cupboard then rinsed it at the sink, then went into the fridge to retrieve a one gallon bottle filled with water. She poured some into the glass and brought it to him. He sat up gingerly and took it from her. He slipped it slowly.
She touched his face. His skin felt warm. He looked at her. She took his wrist and placed it between the tip of her fingers, carefully noting his pulse. She closed her eyes as she felt his pulse. She opened her eyes and looked at him.
"Why did you faint," she asked him. "Your heart rate is elevated."
She released his wrist and used the palm of her hand to gently push him back on the bed.
She looked at him. "Why did you faint?" Dana asked, her eyes boring into him.
"It's personal," he said with a sigh and closed his eyes.
"Miss Dixon?" she asked, her voice held a hint of cynicism.
His eyes flickered open. She swore under her breath. She stood up to walk away. "Permission to speak freely Sarge, please."
He sighed. "Go ahead Constable," he said his voice still hoarse.
"Sir, I know everyone is carefully skirting around this situation like they're walking on eggshells, but Sarge, you're too good for her. She is good at her job and I will commend her for that, but she's just as messed up as her clients. I don't know what she's done to you, but all I know is, she should be here with you. She may be pregnant and yes, this Mr Z tried to kidnap her, but she's okay now. She should come see you."
He cleared his throat. "Dana, she did," he answered.
She didn't know this. "Okay, so what happened?" She stood looking at him, her arms crossed over her chest.
"She wants to co-parent," he told her.
Dana sighed. "Sarge, I'm sorry," she replied.
He attempted to sit up and grimaced because his head felt dizzy. She rushed to his side and held him. She tucked a pillow behind his back. "Lean back," she told him. He did so and sighed.
She touched his face. She looked into his eyes. Follow my fingers," she instructed him. She moved her index finger into his line of vision and away from it on either side of his head. He tried to turn to see it. "No don't turn. Try to see out of the corner of your eye as much as you can," she said.
He did as she instructed.
She sat on the bed and watched as he followed her finger. She sighed and smiled slowly. "You'll be fine," she said. He smiled at her. "You're my doctor for the day? " he asked amused. She shook her head. "No, nurse," she answered.
His face looked puzzled. She was serious. "I'm studying to be a nurse," she told him. She put her hands at her sides as she spoke to him.
He was shocked. "So you'll be leaving the Force?" he asked. She nodded. "Yes, the next two years I should be done with my degree and looking towards that field," she said.
"I don't know what to say," he replied. She stood up and walked towards his stove and turned it off. "I made some chicken broth for you," she told him. He looked at her. She was wearing a pair of jeans that hugged her hips. A pink blouse that complimented her skin tone. He noted that Dana never wore pink when in civilian clothes. This was very different from her usual color scheme which was usually black, grey or blue. He cleared his throat. "You look nice today," he told her. She nodded and smiled shyly. "Thank you," she said.
He cleared his throat again. "About what you said earlier, about me, Constable Campbell ..." He saw her expression and softened his tone. "Dana, you are a good person and a very attractive young woman," he said.
"But I'm not Miss Dixon," she replied. Her tone sounded a little bitter.
She began serving a portion of the broth on a pre-rinsed ceramic bowl and brought it to him on a tray. He sat up straight and took it from her. He started eating and watched as she put the rest of the soup in a plastic container with an air tight lid. She closed the lid on the container and placed it on the top of the fridge. "As soon as it is cool put it in the fridge," she said.
He nodded while he drank the broth. She used a kitchen towel and wiped off the sink and counter. "Dana," he called to her. She looked up at him. He smiled at her. "You don't have to be Miss Dixon, you're perfect the way you are," he told her.
"But not perfect for you," she challenged him.
"Tell me something," he began, "you volunteering to help me track down Mr Z was that because you're attracted to me?" he asked.
She nodded.
He tried to make himself comfortable on the pillow. He slipped and hit his shoulder on the head board. He winced in pain. Instantly, Dana was at his side. She leaned over him to help him sit up. He caught a glimpse of the beautiful dark skin of her breasts in her blouse.
Nestled between them was a thin gold chain with a cross as its pendant. It was tucked inside her bra with the pendant hanging between her cleavage, which he noted looked tempting. He didn't know she wore jewelry. Her skin was a shade lighter than his, but still considered dark. Her breasts were smooth and round. He swallowed as he looked at them. She straightened and looked at him. She caught his curious gaze and looked at him puzzled.
"Are you okay?" she asked worried about him.
He nodded. "Yeah, yeah I'm good," he said smiling awkwardly. He remembered she said she would have to wear skimpy clothing as the waitress. He no longer wanted her to do it. "Dana, maybe you shouldn't go through with taking that job at Mr Z's boutique," he said.
"Why?" she asked.
He cleared his throat and swallowed. "Because I think it may be too dangerous," he said.
"It was always dangerous. It was dangerous before now. What's changed?" she asked.
"I care about you," he told her.
She crossed her arms over her chest. "So what? You never had this thought before?" she asked.
Shane nodded. "That was before I got to know you better. You're a really kind person and a loyal friend," he replied.
"So what you're saying is, you're having second thoughts about bringing this man down, and having a normal life for yourself and your children?" she asked sarcastically.
He shook his head and chuckled a little. "No Dana, I'm not saying that." He sighed then said, "What I'm saying is, we're good friends, bredrin then. You're like my friend who I adore as a sister. When I approached you about this mission I did it with that in mind, with the understanding that as colleagues, and as 'bredrin' we support each other knowing the risks. But now, now that I know you ..."
"Now that you know I have feelings for you, you think my judgement is clouded?" she asked cutting him off.
He didn't answer her but said, "Dana, you have always had a cool head. I have never seen you express an annoyance with anyone or anything, but observe you're behavior now."
She stared at him. Her eyes were one of her most endearing features. Beautiful, oval shaped eyes looked angrily at him. They also showed hurt. "Sarge, I am still a cop, though I am a woman," she answered. "I am aware of the risks and I am more than capable of handling myself. You know this."
Shane nodded. "I know," he said. "Well then, chalk it up to me realizing that you care more for me than a friendship, and I want you to be safe. Is it wrong for me to do that?"
She shook her head. "But I don't need your sympathy," she replied angrily.
"Constable Campbell!" he scolded sternly.
Dana straightened her back, squared her shoulders, hands at her sides and put her legs together in the 'at attention' position. "My apologies Sergeant Crosby. Permission to leave, sir," she said but her voice was shaky.
Shane sighed. "Dana," he said softening his tone. He sat up on the bed. He swung his feet slowly over the edge of the bed and planted them on the floor. Carefully, he bent his knees and adjusted his weight to stand before her. He walked towards her slowly. He stood before her. She lifted her head and looked at him, her gaze challenging him. With eyebrows raised, he looked into her eyes and saw a smoldering passion in their depths. "How long have you felt this way about me?" he asked, his voice tender.
"For almost the two and half years I've known you, sir," she said, her voice crisp. He came closer to her and looked at her face. She had relaxed hair that was thick and beautiful. She always had it up in a bun or ponytail. Now it was loose, passed her shoulders down her back. He had no idea it was that long. Her hair looked freshly done. It also smelt really nice.
He reached his right hand up and touched her left cheek. On feeling the contact with her skin, Dana closed her eyes. He gently rubbed his thumb on her cheek and observed her reaction to his touch. He moved his hand around to the back of her neck and massaged it slowly. Dana opened her mouth slightly and a soft breath escaped her lips. Shane bit his bottom lip as he watched her reactions to his touch. Her body was still locked in the 'at attention' stance.
"At ease Constable Campbell," he said, his voice gruff. Dana relaxed. "Look at me Dana," Shane said quietly. She opened her eyes and he felt his heart stir as he saw the passion in her eyes. He came closer and kissed her brow. He felt her body shiver. "It's gonna take a little time to get over this hurt I'm feeling," he told her. He kissed her brow again then tenderly brushed his thumb over her lips. She gasped and closed her eyes. "You're very beautiful Dana," he said. "Maybe I'm just seeing beyond your tough exterior for the first time. Forgive me."
She chuckled, then opened her eyes. "I may have been more athletic growing up, but it doesn't mean I don't have a girlie side," she said smiling slightly.
"That you do," he said stepping back from her to look appreciatively at her curves in the snug jeans. "You look really sexy today," he told her.
Dana laughed and held her head down, blushing. She looked up at him shyly. "There's always been something I've wanted to do," she said quietly.
Shane smiled feeling amused. "What's that?" he asked. He was very curious about this interesting young woman. She stood on tiptoe and placed her arms behind his neck. She looked into his eyes and saw a spark in them. She leaned forward and kissed his right cheek then his left, then finally she leaned forward to kiss his lips. Sarge lifted her in his arms and hoisted her up. He wrapped her legs around his hips and kissed her passionately.
Her taste was different from Lissa's, but even more satisfying. With Lissa it felt like she held back a part of herself, but Dana was giving him everything in this kiss. He groaned and cupped her buttocks. He squeezed. She wasn't as fluffy as Lissa, but she had more than enough for him to enjoy. He was becoming more aroused as she slipped her tongue into his mouth to explore him. He reciprocated and heard her groan.
He carried her to his bed and laid her down. He lay on top of her and looked into his eyes. "I didn't know Dana. I didn't know," he said apologetically.
"It doesn't matter now," she said. "Now you know how I feel. It's up to you Sarge. What will you do?" she asked looking up at him. He was touched by the vulnerability he saw on her face.
He froze as he looked at her. Maybe Lissa was right, they did rush things. He kissed Dana tenderly then sat back. "I want to, believe me I do, but I want to be sure about this, whatever is happening between us." he said ruefully.
Dana lifted her upper body, supporting herself on her elbows. "You sure?" She chuckled. "Those kisses were fiery," she said smiling at him.
He touched her face and nodded, "I want to do it right this time. So if we do have a relationship it's built on a strong foundation." He took a deep breath. "You should know I'm a Christian, although I may not act like it at times. I was planning on waiting until after Lissa and I got married to have sex again." He sat up and turned his body to the side of the bed. "You should also know, she and I may or may not get back together. I can't guarantee anything between you and I," he told her.
Dana sat up and moved closer to him. "For you, that's a risk I'm willing to take," she said. He looked at her. Her eyes were sincere. One thing he knew about Dana, she was always real and honest. He put his left arm around her and briefly kissed her lips. "Okay, we'll take a step at a time?" he asked.
She nodded. "Yes," she answered. He bent forward and kissed her lips. He was surprised at the level of 'soft femininity' she had inside her. Maybe I did take her for granted.
"When we're alone together you can call me Shane, okay?" he told her.
Dana's face brightened into an adorable smile. Gosh, she's gorgeous! he thought as he stared at her. He kissed her forehead. "Will do," she said happily.
She wanted to sit on him. "Sarge ... um I mean Shane ..." Shane chuckled at her innocent mistake. "What is it Dana?" He bent his head to touch her brow. "Can I sit on you?" she asked. He looked at her sincere expression and melted. He smiled. "Okay," he replied. She stood up and came over to him, facing him she placed one leg over his lap then the other.
As she straddled him, he cupped her bottom and pulled her up to him. He was curious. "Dana, um ... I'm curious about something," he said looking at her. He gently patted her bottom, and she smiled and rested her head on his shoulder.
Well this is nice and cozy, he thought.
"Have you had boyfriends? I mean have you had sex before?" he asked.
She sighed. "I've had one boyfriend. We had sex twice, but then he cheated so I dumped him," she answered matter-of-factly.
"No one else since then?" he asked. He pushed his face towards hers. She lifted her head and rubbed her face on his. Her reaction to his gesture aroused him. She's a secret 'lover girl'. He liked that.
"No," she answered with a short sigh, "no one else." He touched her hair and gently caressed the strands, running his fingers through them.
"He took your ... he was your first?" he asked. He felt awkward asking.
She nodded. "Yes," she said in a soft, baby voice that surprised him. Her tone switched on the protective nature in him. He turned his head so he could see the side of her face. Her lips were pursed. He eased her back from his shoulder and looked into her eyes. He touched her face. "So, he was the first and only, and if I'm with you it'll just be me?" he asked.
She lowered her head and nodded shyly. "Is that a problem?" she asked.
He shook his head. He lifted her face. "No, actually, I like the fact that you're practically untouched." He brushed his fingers through her hair. He kissed her slowly, closing his eyes. He would have to take his time with her. Already, he found himself very intrigued by her. He remembered seeing the cross nestled in her bosom and wondered about her family background. He hugged her, squeezing her to him.
"Do you still want to go through with going undercover?" he asked her, cupping her face.
"Yes, I do, especially now," she said shyly. He kissed her brow. He had to make sure she was very careful. He couldn't bear the thought of her being hurt.
While she sat in his lap he went over the plan with her and made sure she thoroughly understood not to take unnecessary risk, and to be as inconspicuous as possible. She nodded her understanding.
Afterwards, he locked her lips in a passionate kiss that took both their breaths away. He wanted to have her but was adamant that this time he would wait. He thanked her for the broth, and she told him she liked cooking for him. He only had to ask. He smiled and told her he would ask her more often. She kissed him and told him it would be her pleasure.
As they sat on the bed, he held her close. She had a soft, feminine, sweet and innocent side he was getting to know. He wanted to know more about her. He asked her about her family: her parents, her siblings, aunt's, uncles and cousins. She spoke about them openly. Her openness was very refreshing. His heart still ached for Lissa, but he was enjoying the conversation with Dana, and her kindness was like a balm to his soul.
Dana leaned into him and circled her arms around him. "I have to go now," she said. He felt a niggle of disappointment. He sighed. "Okay," he said. She stood up and looked at him. She circled her arms around his neck and kissed him passionately. As he was about to grip her round hips, she pushed him back on the bed, grabbed her bags from the floor and opened the door. She took something from one of her bags and threw it at him. He caught it. She giggled while closing the door behind her.
Shane smiled. He had never seen her playful side before. He kind of liked it. He wanted to see more of her flirty, playful behavior. He stretched his feet out and thought of his million interactions with her. Little by little, he began to realize that the clues were always there. By her body language she showed him she was attracted to him, but he was so blinded by his pursuit of Lissa, he couldn't see it. He sighed. This time he would pay closer attention to her.
He looked at the thing in his hands and wondered what it was. It was in gift wrap paper. There was a card stuck to the side of it. He opened the card and read:
"Sarge on this your birthday, I salute you. You have been an inspiration to me; a reassuring hand guiding on my path as a police officer and a true friend. When my father was sick you came to visit me those days I had to take time off to care for him. I want you to know I appreciate you and I will always be here for you.
Your friend, Constable Dana Campbell, Deedee. ❤"
He felt his heart stir. He closed his eyes. He wished he knew sooner. He pulled off the wrapping paper to see a white cardboard box. He opened it and looked inside. Inside was a watch nestled on top of confetti paper. It was however not just any watch. It was analog with a blue face and leather straps. He was pleasantly surprised to see that it also had a compass in the left corner. He smiled. He knew this was probably very expensive.
There was a note inside the box. He read it:
"Sarge, I wanted to give you something heartfelt as well as sentimental on your birthday. I thought this watch would be a good birthday gift for you. I pray that with its compass, it will remind you that time is precious, and also guide you in the right direction. Your friend Dana. P.S. it's water proof."
He looked towards the door, then lay back and smiled. He pulled off the watch he had on his left wrist and put hers on. He closed his eyes. When he saw her again he would thank her properly. Her kindness made him feel better. He didn't want to hurt her. "Dana, you're the precious one," he said. He wished she was there with him.
"Oh God, help me to make the right decision," he prayed. He opened his eyes and looked at his new watch. A faint smile curled his lips. He wanted to take her out to dinner. He wondered what she would look like in a dress. Yeah, I would like to see that. He closed his eyes and smiled.

Shane was half asleep when the phone jolted him out of his reverie. He was dreaming about Dana. He yawned softly. It was a nice alternative to thinking of Lissa. He looked at the number and was surprised at who was calling.
"Shane?" the voice said. "I think I have information you need."
Shane sat up straight. "Mr Dixon, good evening," he replied.
"I-I think I just met your Mr Z!" Marcus said he voice shaking.
Shane sat up straight. "You what?"
"Yes! I-I think I met him today! I was introduced to him for a compliance check of his companies. I don't know if it's really him, but I think it's him!" Marcus said sounding agitated.
Shane's mind was spinning. "Okay, calm down. Where are you now?"
"I'm at home," Marcus said. Shane noted the nervousness in his voice.
"Is it okay if I stop by? Will Mrs Dixon be okay with that?" he asked. He needed to be sure.
"She's not here. She fainted. She's being treated at University Hospital for stress and dehydration," he told him. "Brandon isn't here either. I am inviting you over. Please come by."
Shane sighed. He hoped Mrs Dixon would be better soon. "Okay, I'm on my way," he told him.
He hung up. He looked at the phone. Lissa's dad was the last person he expected to call him.
He took a shower and got dressed in all black. He quickly exited his apartment and locked the door. Looking around him, he was relieved to see no strange activity. Shane sat on his motorcycle and started it carefully. Quite an interesting turn of events, he mused.
